Sally Dunphy

Sally is a Certified Nose Work Instructor (CNWI) with National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) and a Scent Work judge with AKC. 

Sally has been playing the Nose Work game with her dogs since 2011. She fell in love with the sport when she saw the joy and optimism it brings to dogs and experienced the way it deepens bonds and improves communication between dog and handler. Sally first took NACSW instructor training in 2016 and has been continuously updating and refining her understanding of Nose Work through in-person and virtual webinars. She says this game never gets stale. Every training session teaches her something new and increases her wonder at the amazing abilities our dogs possess. She is currently excited about the results she is seeing with the “Dog Driven Search” handling style. Sally feels it amplifies NACSW’s stated goal of allowing the dog to learn and solve odor puzzles on their own terms as the handler provides appropriate support, resulting in a team with greater resilience, better communication, and infinitely more joy.
