NACSW Skills Achievement Challenge 2024

Service Description

NACSW title opportunity -- no ORT required! National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) began offering "at home" video submission title opportunities during the early days of COVID. It was so much fun they continued the program even after in-person trials resumed! Here is a link to the 2024 Skills Challenge information on the NACSW site: https://www.nacsw.net/challenges You will note 4 skills are being tested with 3 levels of achievement (of increasing complexity) for each skill : * Containers with Distractors * Suspended Hide * Table Hide * Multiple Hide Search on a Natural Surface What is included in this 8-class series: a discussion of each challenge and a practice run of level 1, a video of the set-up for each skill, and a video of your team's search. These videos will be properly named and uploaded to DropBox or Drive (your choice). You will be responsible for following NACSW directions for submission and for the submission fee. There will be no emphasis on coaching in this series. There will be an opportunity for "homework" prior to levels 2&3 after each level 1 class. The Natural Surface challenge is early in the series of classes in hope of favorable weather and/or time to reschedule if weather is unfavorable. Class structure proposal: * Class One: Containers with Distractors. Meet at Everything Dog at noon. Discuss the challenge, practice run, and video of level 1. * Class Two: Multiple Hide Search on a Natural Surface. Location TBD based on discussion at first class (possibly my home north of Fort Collins). Discuss the challenge, practice run and video of level 1 * Class Three: Multiple Hide Search on a Natural Surface. Location as above. Video levels 2 & 3. * Class Four: Containers with Distractors. Meet at Everything Dog at noon. Video Levels 2 & 3. * Class Five: Suspended Hide. Meet at Everything Dog at noon. Discuss the challenge, practice run, and video of level 1. * Class Six: Table Hide. Meet at Everything Dog at noon. Discuss the challenge, practice run, and video of level 1. * Class Seven: Suspended Hide. Meet at Everything Dog at noon. Video Levels 2 & 3. * Class Eight: Table Hide. Meet at Everything Dog at noon. Video Levels 2 & 3. You need not achieve all level 3 or all level 2 to submit! I encourage you to attempt only as much as gives you and your dog joy. No title is worth taking the fun out of the game! We are always and only here to honor the bond between you and your dog and have as much fun as possible.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation or postponement of classes is based upon instructor discretion. Withdrawal of enrollment in courses by client is permitted up to 1 week after first class for pro-rated refund.
