Advance Topics-Distractors in Containers
Yes, you can teach your dog to work past distractors in containers - even pizza!
Service Description
Both NACSW and AKC may have distractors in containers. As competitors move up in trial levels those distractors can be very high value and very challenging. This four-week short course will give you and your dog the tools to learn to work past virtually any contained distractor. Working past distractors isn't a one and done skill to teach. It is a skill that must be maintained over time. You will learn how in this class. Please join us! Just a note that this class will not address distractors lying in the open as found in AKC. Learning to work past "accessible" distractors is best started and solidified outside of the Scent Work context. We can discuss in class, but won't specifically work on this skill. All dogs should be able to find birch, anise, and clove in closed containers.
